About Cwirk
Cwirk is a free service for creating a fully functioning WordPress blog in seconds. There are no ads, no setup costs, no fine print here. We are not big fans of fine print. We'll give you 1 GB of storage, 5 GB of bandwidth, and with that you can go to town. Make your dream blog. Blog with reckless abandon.

Why do we do this for free? Simple - because we wish this existed when we were starting out on the internet. Cwirk is just a simple way to get a blog online with the bells and whistles. WordPress is great software, but you need to be somewhat tech savy if you want to install it yourself. Plus you'll need to pay for web hosting, a domain name, and configure a database. Wouldn't it be nice if someone did that all for you? We did.

What if you want more, like access to the WordPress installation? We understand at some point you may grow beyond just a simple WordPress site. Maybe you want some email addresses, or additional storage. In that case, you can upgrade to a web hosting account from DP Hosting, who makes Cwirk possible. And they offer very reasonable hosting packages at prices normal folks can affoard. Best of all, upgrading takes only a minute and causes no downtime. Check them out at www.dphosting.com.

So what's this WordPress thing? WordPress is by far the most intuitive and highly customizable blogging software. What's even better is that you can download, install and update a vast amount of themes and plugins to expand how your blog opperates, all from within your blog. This makes it ideal for people who want to customize their blog without needing an experienced technical background to do it. And it allows us to offer free blogs since the overhead of maintaining blogging software is handled by them. If you're curious about WordPress, check them out at www.wordpress.org.

And if you have more questions? Then we suggest you check out the Support section. There are lots of resources in there, including a community forum and articles on how to do common tasks in WordPress. Bear in mind that being free, we'll provide resources and documentation to explain many WordPress features, but the Cwirk Community is really where you're going to find help to any specific and more complex customizations.
